Publication Ethics

1. Ethical Responsibilities of Authors

Authors submitting to the Sairrana Journal must adhere to the following ethical principles:

  • Originality and Plagiarism: Authors must submit original research that has not been published elsewhere. Any use of previously published work must be properly cited. Plagiarism, in any form, is unacceptable, including self-plagiarism.

  • Data Accuracy: Authors must ensure the accuracy and integrity of the data presented in their manuscript. Fabrication, falsification, or manipulation of data is strictly prohibited.

  • Authorship: All individuals who have made significant contributions to the research should be listed as co-authors. Authors must ensure that all co-authors have agreed to the manuscript’s content and publication. Any changes in authorship must be communicated and agreed upon by all parties involved.

  • Conflicts of Interest: Authors must disclose any financial, personal, or professional conflicts of interest that could influence the research or its interpretation. This includes funding sources, affiliations, and any potential bias.

  • Ethical Approval: Authors must ensure that their research complies with relevant ethical guidelines, including obtaining informed consent from participants and approval from relevant ethics committees when required.

  • Acknowledgment of Sources: All sources, including data, ideas, or text not originating from the authors, must be properly cited. Authors should acknowledge all contributors and sources that have supported their work.

  • Duplicate Submissions: Authors should not submit manuscripts that are under review elsewhere. Submitting the same manuscript to multiple journals simultaneously is considered unethical.

  • Retraction and Correction: If authors discover significant errors or inaccuracies in their published work, they must notify the editorial team immediately and work with the journal to correct or retract the article.

2. Ethical Responsibilities of Reviewers

Reviewers play a critical role in maintaining the quality and integrity of the journal’s content. The Sairrana Journal expects its reviewers to:

  • Confidentiality: Reviewers must treat the manuscript as a confidential document. They should not share the manuscript with others or use the content for personal advantage.

  • Objectivity and Fairness: Reviewers must assess manuscripts objectively, based on the quality, relevance, and originality of the work. Personal bias or conflicts of interest should not influence the review process.

  • Constructive Feedback: Reviewers should provide constructive, clear, and well-reasoned feedback to help authors improve their work. Comments should focus on the content of the manuscript, not on the authors personally.

  • Timeliness: Reviewers must complete their reviews within the agreed timeframe. If they are unable to do so, they must notify the editorial team promptly.

  • Conflict of Interest: Reviewers must disclose any potential conflicts of interest related to the manuscript. If they have any personal, professional, or financial interests that could affect their impartiality, they should recuse themselves from reviewing the manuscript.

  • Ethical Concerns: If reviewers suspect research misconduct (such as plagiarism, falsification of data, or unethical treatment of research subjects), they should report these concerns to the editorial team immediately.

3. Ethical Responsibilities of Editors

The editorial team of the Sairrana Journal is responsible for ensuring the quality, integrity, and ethical standards of the journal’s content. Editors are expected to:

  • Fairness and Impartiality: Editors must ensure that all manuscripts are reviewed fairly and impartially, regardless of the authors' gender, nationality, religious beliefs, or institutional affiliation.

  • Confidentiality: Editors must maintain the confidentiality of manuscripts under consideration. They should not disclose any information about the manuscript to anyone other than the reviewers and the editorial team, unless required by law.

  • Decision-Making: Editors are responsible for making decisions on whether a manuscript should be accepted, revised, or rejected based on the quality and relevance of the work, reviewer feedback, and the ethical standards upheld by the authors.

  • Conflict of Interest: Editors must disclose any conflicts of interest related to a manuscript. If an editor has a conflict of interest (e.g., co-authoring with the submitting author or competing research), they should recuse themselves from the editorial decision-making process.

  • Transparency: Editors must ensure transparency in the decision-making process. They should provide clear communication with authors and reviewers and ensure that the review process is unbiased and objective.

  • Handling Complaints and Appeals: Editors must have procedures in place for handling complaints from authors or reviewers and addressing any potential ethical violations, such as plagiarism or misconduct. Appeals should be handled in a transparent and impartial manner.

4. Ethical Responsibilities of the Journal

The Sairrana Journal adheres to the following principles to maintain its ethical standing:

  • Compliance with Ethical Standards: The journal is committed to publishing only research that adheres to ethical standards, including proper research conduct, transparency, and fair treatment of all authors, reviewers, and readers.

  • Transparency and Accountability: The journal is transparent about its editorial policies, including the peer review process, publication fees (if any), and its ethical guidelines. It is also committed to addressing and rectifying any ethical issues that arise in the course of publishing.

  • Retraction and Correction: The journal takes full responsibility for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the published work. If an error or misconduct is identified after publication, the journal will issue corrections, retractions, or updates as necessary, in accordance with the COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) guidelines.

  • Copyright and Licensing: The Sairrana Journal ensures that authors retain copyright to their work and encourages the use of open-access licenses such as Creative Commons, allowing the free distribution and sharing of published research.

5. Handling of Ethical Violations

In cases of suspected ethical violations (such as plagiarism, data fabrication, or improper authorship), the Sairrana Journal follows the guidelines set by the COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics). The journal will take appropriate action, which may include retraction, correction, or rejection of the manuscript, as well as notifying relevant authorities or institutions.
