Archiving Policy
1. Digital Preservation
All content published in the Sairrana Journal is digitally archived to ensure that it remains accessible to the academic community, researchers, and the public over time. Our primary archiving methods include:
- Institutional Repository: All published articles are archived in an institutional repository to ensure long-term storage and access. This repository is accessible to all users and provides a stable, persistent URL for each article.
- Public Databases: The journal’s content is deposited in major global open-access databases and repositories, such as DOAJ (Directory of Open Access Journals), to promote widespread dissemination and preserve articles.
- Backup and Redundancy: The journal's website and content are backed up regularly to prevent data loss due to technical failures. Archived content is stored securely on multiple servers to ensure redundancy and accessibility.
2. Long-Term Accessibility
The Sairrana Journal is dedicated to maintaining long-term access to all published articles. In line with this commitment, the journal ensures that:
- Open Access: All published content is freely available to the public under an open-access license (Creative Commons Attribution License). Articles can be accessed, downloaded, and shared without restrictions.
- Persistent Identifiers: Every article published in the Sairrana Journal receives a DOI (Digital Object Identifier) to provide a permanent, stable link for future access.
- Linking to Archives: Articles are indexed in reputable, long-term digital archives that facilitate easy access and discovery, ensuring that content remains discoverable in the future.
3. Access to Archived Content
The Sairrana Journal ensures that all content, including current and past issues, remains accessible through the following means:
- Journal Website: All articles are available for download on the Sairrana Journal website. Users can browse, search, and access any published article at any time.
- Permanent Links: Each article is assigned a permanent URL and DOI to facilitate citation and access. Articles will remain available even if the journal's website undergoes changes.
- Third-Party Archiving Services: The journal collaborates with archiving platforms and digital libraries to guarantee that its content remains accessible through various platforms, ensuring preservation in case of website migration or changes.
4. Preservation of Content in Case of Journal Closure
In the unlikely event that the Sairrana Journal is discontinued or ceases publication, all content will be preserved and made available to the public. The following steps will be taken:
- Transition to Another Repository: If the journal discontinues its operations, its content will be transferred to a reputable academic repository or institutional archive to ensure continued availability.
- Permanent Archiving: All past issues and articles will be archived in a digital preservation service, such as CLOCKSS (Controlled Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe) or similar services that support long-term academic content preservation.
5. Copyright and Ownership
Authors retain copyright to their published works in the Sairrana Journal under the Creative Commons Attribution License (CC-BY). This ensures that the authors maintain ownership of their work while allowing others to freely access, share, and use it with proper attribution.
- Repository Access: Content stored in institutional repositories or third-party services will respect copyright licenses and ensure that articles are freely available, respecting the terms of the CC-BY license.
6. Archiving and Data Integrity
The Sairrana Journal guarantees the integrity and authenticity of all its published content:
- No Alteration of Published Content: Once an article is published, it will not be altered except in cases of errata or corrections. In the event of a major error, a formal erratum will be issued.
- Metadata Preservation: The metadata associated with each article (e.g., authorship, abstract, keywords) will also be preserved to ensure that articles remain discoverable through academic search engines and indexing services.
7. Collaboration with Archiving Partners
The Sairrana Journal collaborates with the following services to support the long-term archiving and preservation of its content:
- CLOCKSS (Controlled Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe)
- PKP Preservation Network
- DOAJ (Directory of Open Access Journals)
- Google Scholar
These platforms help ensure that articles are stored securely, remain accessible, and are preserved for future generations of scholars.
